We can end modern day slavery.

Our vision is a world free of slave labor, where those who have experienced human rights abuses in global supply chains have access to justice.

To achieve this, IRAdvocates works globally - from India and West Africa to South America - addressing a wide range of human rights issues through strategic litigation, training, research, policy and advocacy and coalition building.

Virtually all of our interventions begin with a local trade union or human rights organization's request to visit them and do an initial assessment.

We learn from the community what the critical issues are and what they want to achieve. If we think we can constructively support what is happening on the ground, we engage with local partners to identify and research human rights violations, interview witnesses, and gather evidence. In this process, IRAdvocates trains its partners and explores how to leverage and improve local legal systems and policy to better protect those whose human rights have been violated.

We also work jointly to build coalitions with local lawyers, activists, and journalists to communicate the realities of the global economy's impact on human rights to the world.

If there are no viable local enforcement options to address human rights abuses by multinational companies, IRAdvocates works with its regional partners to develop a legal case that can be filed in a U.S. court.

Most of our cases originate because a multinational company is knowingly operating in a country without a fully functioning or corrupt legal system and uses that lack of the rule of law to exploit and abuse workers, farmers, and others impacted by the company's operations.

IRAdvocates prioritizes cases that can prevent multinational companies from committing or aiding the worst forms of forced labor and violating the human rights of people in global supply chains who are trafficked and then enslaved.

We invite consumers across the globe to join us and use their individual power to stop rewarding bad corporate actors in the global economy. With your help, we can finally end child slavery, forced labor, torture, and even murder that is happening in global supply chains today.
